Howelsen Hill is a short walk from the motel and has been a Olympic training center for many athletes including snowboarders. Beginner and advanced riding can be found at Howelsen Hill, lift tickets are only $17 a day. When you are ready for more, stop by the Steamboat Ski Area, a free bus ride away. Need some help? Take a snowboarding lesson, learn how to ride.

The Morningside Park Expansion opened 179 acres of new terrain at Steamboat during The 97/98 season. The four-phase Pioneer Ridge Expansion, a 770-acre area of intermediate and advanced terrain to The north.
